Commonly asked questions:
● How do I know what to choose from the menu?
A good platter normally consists of pastry/bread, meat/protein and fresh items.
● How do I know how many items I need to get?
Consider what you want to use the platters for. Is it just a filler between a ceremony and main meal, or are you serving a finger food menu? For a filler, you need approximately 5-8 bites per guest. A standard size cake plate takes 5 finger snacks.
If you are serving a finger food menu, consider guests helping themselves up to 4 times. Offer a smaller variety, but with more individual items.
● How big are the items?
We normally match bigger and smaller items for a snack platter. Items such as snack wraps and cocktail quiches will fill more space on a plate as opposed to a skewer or meatball. The idea is for all your flavours to compliment each other.
● How do I translate the number of bites into knowing what I will get?
The number of snacks are calculated per dozen – this gives you freedom to choose 6, 12, 18, 24, etc. per item within the suggested costing.
● What about dips?
Post-Covid it’s not fashionable to use dips on platters. We therefore drizzle/marinade
items prior to plating the food items on the platter.
● What if I don’t find what I want on the menu?
We tailor-make all of our menus. This is just a list of the most popular items – speak to us about your individual preferences.
